I have got quite attached to mine now! As mentioned above, the fact that you can use it with a computer via the USB input port at the rear side of the module makes the DM6 USB a pretty amazing drum set. Its a bit of a project kit, but I actually find it good fun as a project kit, upgrading and replacing. I have started swapping parts, I changed the drum module to a trigger IO and run it through addictive drums, I also moved the old hi hat to an extra and got a roland CY-5. Still, after recording about ten takes of drums, Sonar X3 would start crashing on the laptop. X3 was crashing back then due to the external drive being connected to a USB 2.0 port instead of 3.0. My desktop has three internal hard-drives. I can hear the sounds of Addictive Drums 2, and I can see that reaper is recognizing the midi info, because the bars are popping on 'Master' whenever I hit a pad of the kit. I only do that when Im running from my laptop at a rehearsal studio. I am using Addictive Drums 2 as a VST plugin. I got loads of people playing the "roland or yam" record on loop, but for me, it was a case of buy a second hand DM6 clone, or dont learn at all, for for me I made the right choice and got the second hand DM6 clone, which was a local collection only, second hand, and miss advertised on ebay, so someone was looking out for me there. I am using and usb cable between drumkit and and laptop. Its totally what you can afford, I decided to start to lean to play in October, and I had a very limited budget, 100 UK pounds lol, which doesnt even buy a second hand roland.
